Drug Stores in Budapest

If you are looking for a drug store, look for a sign that says "Patika" or "Gyogyszertar." These are found many places around the city and they disperse drugs by prescription, but also are the only place you will find aspirin, Tylenol, antihistamines, ace bandages, etc. Some of these patikas will also sell cosmetics and vitamins.

There are also many drug store chains like DM and Rossman (both German) that sell costmetics, health foods, vitamins, toilet paper, cleansers, etc. But, unlike similar stores in the U.S., they will not sell anything considered medicine, not even non-prescription pain-relievers.
