Hi! I author this site, and I lived in Budapest for over 4 years. Now that I've returned to live in the States, I try to visit annually. I hope my insights on the city will be helpful.

Acts 17:26-28

"From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being.'"

I chose this title for my blog because it explains that each of us is loved by God and given a specific time in history and a specific place to live and impact those around us. We each have a mission although many of us never realize what it is. That realization comes only through a relationship with Jesus Christ--and even then it comes only to those who seek the Lord's will. I hope that you discover God's purposes for you in your location and era of history!

Hungarian Riddle

One day our land lord asked me the difference between an optimist and a pessimist. I gave him the familiar American answer: "a pessimist says the glass is half empty and an optimist says it is half full."

"No," he replied, "The optimist doesn't know what's going on."

This riddle is a glimpse into the Hungarian psyche--They are a charming and humorous people with an ever-present hint of pessimism!
